About
Shawn Crowder is a professional drummer based in New York City. Since 2009, he has been the drummer for NYC hard rock band The Bloodline. As a sideman, he has performed with renowned progressive rock guitarists Jon Finn, Don Lappin, and Scott Tarulli, and has shared the stage with British virtuoso guitarist Guthrie Govan, the Jon Finn Group, and others as an opening act.
He has recorded with Grammy-winning producers Clark Hagan (Chet Atkins) and John Macy (Big Head Todd & The Monsters, Gladys Knight), and Grammy-nominated producer Butch Hause (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band). Shawn’s performances include South By Southwest, VH1 Save The Music concert with Nick O’Connor, and the 2002 Winter Olympics Torch Ceremony in Longmont, CO.
Though he delivers a hard-hitting rock performance, Shawn also finds home in the subtleties of playing with pop and acoustic acts. He can often be found backing up singer-songwriters, pop artists, and country bands.
Shawn is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music with degrees in Performance and Music Business / Management. He has studied under world-renowned drummers Mike Mangini, Dave DiCenso, Kenwood Dennard, and Terri Lyne Carrington, among others. Shawn has been a regular guest instructor at the Berklee Percussion Festival each summer alongside Berklee professors and well-known visiting artists. Shawn works as a freelance drummer in NYC.
